content-bridgeA few years back, all you had to do was put up a blog and post to it. That’s it. You were done. The content miracle would work itself. You could almost count on your blog kicking your competition squarely in the teeth on the search engine result pages.

That was then, this is now. Just like all good things, those days have come to an end. Just adding a blog to your site is not going to be enough. Neither is adding regular content to that blog. No sir, no maam. It’s going to take a wee bit more to get to the top these days.

So what am I talking about, you ask. I’ll tell you what I’m talking about. I’m talking about taking the content and putting it to work. Social bookmarking boys and girls. It’s the second half of the content miracle and it’s a must in today’s competitive SEO race. If you have a blog and great content, but are not using the social networks, you’re only getting a small percentage of the real value your content can give you. Bookmarking is a key factor and if you’re not doing it, START.

It’s simple really. These giant social networks, themselves authoritative, trusted websites, will let you post links to your website there. These are called backlinks, and if you’ve heard about them you know that they are important. In a nutshell, these are the links the search engine spiders use to find your content. If they find your content on sites they trust, some of that trust is passed on to you. It’s a large part of the overall algorithms that determine search ranking, which is why social bookmarking is important to you and your blog.

So how do you get involved on these social networks and make them work for you? Well, that’s where it might get tricky. Each social network is different. They have different rules and different ways of doing things. Learning the ropes at each social website can take a little effort. But it can be done, if you put the time in.

Not everyone has the time though, that’s why we offer the service as a part of every one of our blogging plans. Just a little extra we give our clients. Because we want your content to rock. Because we want your blog to rock!

Give us a call today and let us show you how our professional bloggers can help your company fare better in the search engine result pages.
